Well my cat usually leaves it someplace where I'll find it. Like right in front of the front door, or on the porch steps. Occasionally, he'll try to bring it inside. Cats are pretty proud of themselves after a successful hunt and they want you to know.

She used to bring them to the front screen door and mroeow so we could all come look and tell her what a good kitty she was. We tried to never let her in the house though...one time she snuck in a mouse that was still alive and dropped it in the kitchen. We chased it around like fools, and then the mouse hid under my cat's tail while she just sat there looking at us like we were nuts!! LOL Anyway, she wasn't allowed in with her catches after that. I always wondered what she did with them when she took them off the porch though. I envision a little stack of carcasses somewhere nearby.

Usually in your lap or by your feet. I had one cat that went hunting in a big lot behind our apartment in Calif. And I would find field mice [ dead of cause ] all over the place. It was his way of showing his love for his mistress/master. I was not happy but I lived with it. It was the dead pidgin I got sick over. LOL

She leaves it for you, For you to have because she or he love you and wants to share. And you give your cat unconditionally love 24/7 , Food and water, treats and toys. And you let your cat do what ever he or she like and loves to do

Don't they all leave the leftovers on the front porch. Every mouser we've ever had does the same thing. I think it's genetic.
