i have just installed firefox , but when i click the icon to open it , it wont open .

just uninstalled it and reinstalled the new version 2 , same thing happens , it wont open

still nothing, ive tried everything that people have suggested, but there is still no response when i try to open firefox.

Uninstall and install again. If that doesn't help try to disable your extensions by going to Start Menu/Programs/Mozilla Firefox/Firefox Safe Mode.

I seem to remember, as I also am a recent convert to Mozillas Firefox browser, that you need to temporarily turn OFF your anti-virus program until the Firefox browser is activated. I did so with my Norton AV -an all is well, so I hope you find it as helpful too.
Firefox is a great browser -Internet Explorer 7 (just released) isn't as secure from adaware and viruses, in my experience.

Maybe you should uninstall it once then reinstall again. If it still doesn't work...I think you can use IE to connect to Firefox web site to get help. Good luck.

check your firewall isn't blocking it, don't worry if it is just tell your firewall it's a safe program, you might need to uninstall and reinstall it to get the firewall to ask you to unblock it, but check the settings on your firewall first in case you can just allow it and restart it

It's probably your firewall or anti-virus software that's blocking it.
