Do you think it has to do with his own military experience, calling US soldiers in Vietnam "baby-killers" and he has since accused soldiers in Iraq of abuse of civilians. Doesn't he know that his loathing of the US military will hurt his '08 chances of becoming president?
When will he wise up and either admit he hates the military or pretend he likes them enough to get elected?

As a troop in the military with a college degree (thank you), Im complety offended by John "the retard" Kerry's comments. As a fact and personnaly witnessing it Democratic politicians dislike military members. I remember an incident when the Clintons visited where we were they didnt even want to meet the troops but on the news they show them shaking hands with troop... GARBAGE... But Ive meet Bush and all the republican politicians Ive meet are all about meeting the troops.. Bottomline...DEMOCRATS not just Kerry hate the military.

It is very doubtful that Kerry will have any support at all from any one!
Any way the Dems are pushing for Hellory to run!
Even though we do NOT need the Clintons back in the White House stealing the rest of the antiques!
So hopefully the Dems will come up with some one that can beat her in the primaries

I can't read Mr. Kerry's mind but I think he is like most politicans they say what they think the voters want to hear. It would be great if most of them would tell the public the truth and that goes for both parties. Right now it is popular for the Democratic party to be more anti war and I think that is because they lost the election. As a nation we should come together and unite and that doesn't mean we have to agree about every subject which of course we can't. I think this country is in great danger and I am afraid it will take something awful to pull us together as a nation.

I don't think he actually hates the military. I think he just says things he thinks his audience wants to hear. A lot of times, it would seem that he just doesn't think before he speaks. That speech he gave yesterday at Pasadena City College was on behalf of Phil Angelides for whom he was campaigning. One of Angelides' big campaign promises has been more money for education. I don't think having Kerry "helping" with his campaign is going to get him elected though; however, it may help Governor Schwarzenegger get re-elected though!
It was just stupid of Kerry to insinuate that people that go into the military straight after high school will get stuck in Iraq. A lot of young men signed up because they wanted to go fight in Iraq. My son joined the Marines before he had even turned 18. Right now he is stationed on a Naval ship and may end up in Iraq. He is going to be taking college courses while on the ship. The jobs that he is being assigned to, have been given to him because he is intelligent. Most of what you need learn in life is learned outside of colleges and universities!

Kerry criticizes the demoralizing of the military and the misuses of the military, as anyone who is a responsible American should do, if he really cares about our military. Such criticism does not show hatred of the military, but rather respect and care for it.

Republicans seize every opportunity to cast anything that even hints of criticism as some kind of outrage and scandal - they have nothing to better to say.

It is ridiculous to say that a remark about how getting an education will spare you from becoming cannon fodder in this unseemly war is evidence of "hating the military."

Kerry doesn't hate the military--he just hates the politicians who run it. Both from back when he was doing his duty to his country, and now with Iraq, he wants the government to use soldiers and war only when necessary for good causes. (While a certain guy who went to national guard fantasy camp to fly jets around the US when there was a war being fought in Asia sends kids to die in a war without a goal, without a plan, and without justification.)

Kerry does not hate the US Military. He might hate the process that puts American soldiers in harms way... He might hate the Government policies that landed him in Vietnam, but he doesn't hate the military. He might hate the spiteful conservative spin that is put on everything he says, but he doesn't hate the military.

You are not looking deeply enough.

Kerry respects and admires the troops deeply. As an ex-military person myself, I don't know of any vets that "hate" the military.

I think (because I'm not Kerry), that he prefers our troops lives be used for good purposes, and just wars. Iraq is a disaster...and nobody is owning up to that.

Buying into the media huh? Have you ever sat down and talked one on one with Mr. Kerry. He knows what a senseless war is. He knows the atrocities that can happen when our troops start to lose faith in their leaders and mission.
