Residency Requirement: None.

Necessary Documents: Valid passport; copies of original or certified birth certificates; proof of divorce or death certificate of former spouse/s (if applicable); Certificate of No Impediment; medical certificate (blood test) may be required

Note: Requirements and necessary documents vary by district, so it is important to contact the registrar of the district where you’ll be marrying for specific requirements. German translations done by a certified German translator are required for divorce certificates and may also be required for birth and death certificates.

For More Info: Contact the German Consulate, http://www.germany.info/relaunch/info/consular_services/otherconsularservices/marrygerm.html

Hope that helps! Good luck! Best Wishes!

why don't you get married here in a registry office - have you civil service and so are married in the eyes of the law and then go to Germany and do your vows in front of friends and family in a place of your choosing. You would need your birth certificates and other id. This way you have done both.
