very normal. practice words with S T's like sixty six , seventy seven, thirty three. this will help train your toung and in a few hours your speech will be closer to normal, please keep wearing it if not your teeth will shift back to the original starting point. i am 44yrs old and still wear mine ;)

Yes it's completely normal. I know it's annoying but it's very important for you to wear your retainer. I had my braces taken off when I was 15. I'm now 26 and my teeth are still as straight as the day I got them off. The reason is because I wore my retainer 2 years straight even though it was annoying. Even now I wear my retainer sometimes at night. My sister also had braces but didn't wear the retainer like she was supposed to. Now she has braces on again to try to straighten out her teeth again. Your teeth will shift if you don't wear your retainers and that will be a waste of money.

I have never had a retainer, but I had several friends who had them. It's normal for it to take some time for you to get used to talking with the retainer in place. Your speech should improve but will sound funny for a little while as you get used to it.

Unfortunately, it is normal. It will take your tongue a few days to get used to the retainer. After that your speech will be completely normal again.

Yes it is normal, until you get used to having that extra "stuff" in your mouth. Most people get used to it in a few weeks, I on the other hand was never able to talk with them in. Hope it doesn't take long. CONGRATS on making it thru the braces ordeal and smile lots you earned that gorgeous smile!

its normal at the begining. you have a lot of spit in your mouth cuz of it and it effects how you talk. it goes away after a couple days.
