Hi ohsuzanna...
It is an old wives tail that dogs gain allot of weight after being nurtured. The only person that can decide if your dog will get allot heavier is you my friend. All neutering does is to stop the reproduction. they are the same dog with the same needs and urges.
I wish you all the best with your dog and I hope he gives you many years of happiness like mine does!
Thanks
Randy

To put it briefly, NO. Depending on how old your dog is, a young dog will experience normal weight gain as he matures. It is a myth that spaying or neutering a cat or dog will cause them to become overweight. I have worked at a humane society and even did a college stats project on this topic. At the age when most cats and dogs are altered, they are still growing, so most of their nutrition goes into growth. At age 1-2 they are "adults" and no longer skinny teenagers. Because they are often less active as "adults," they can put on some weight. Altering an animal does not directly affect their activity level. Your dog should remain a normal weight if you feed him the ideal amount of good quality food and give him regular exercise. Check with your vet to find out what the ideal weight range for your Yorkie is, and this will give you a guide to follow. While altering a female cat in heat can cause hormones to go awry and lead to weight issues, overall, altering will not cause obesity, but poor nutrition, overfeeding, and lack of excercise will.

Yorkies if breed withother animals will have baby puppies that are bigger... But the peer breed yokie that is getting knocked up willnot gain wieght, other than the wieght gain from the prgaince and not cause you had another dog breed with her... But it isnt good to breed a yorkie with any other dog at all. It tears the blood line apart.! I have Yorkies myself. Breedign them with other dogs, isnt good. But if you are not showing your yorkies and tell the people who buy them that thye arenot full breed, then there shouldnt be a problem... And you cant get Papers for half breed dogs.. So the puppies wouldn't be showable, or breedable for others.

Thanks a million for fixing your dog. You're doing the right thing. If you keep an eye on your little pooch, he won't gain weight. I can tell that you're a responsible owner, and if you walk your dog, feed him the right thing and have him checked-up regularly, he won't have any weight problem. Yorkies are tiny dogs, and you don't really have to work too hard to keep him in shape.

Not necessarily. Usually neutered dogs gain weight because they are less active than they were before neutering, since they have less tendancy to roam and such. If you take that in to account when you feed the dog you can usually curb the weight gain.

Spaying or neutering a dog will not make him gain weight. However he will most likely gain weight if he's fed a lot or if he's lazy or if he eats a lot of human food.

Depends on how you now are feeding him. You will need to cut back on the amount you now feed him and exercise him a lot. Walks are good. And keep him off human food...

Only if you feed him to much.
Monitoring a dogs weight is the owners responsibility, not the dogs.

not if U feed and EXERCISE them properly after the surgery! :)
'too many calories in, and too little activity out' is the cause of obese dogs...
