What's the best way to get your home show-ready? Tips on keeping it clean, getting motivated to clean it when it's such a mess, etc. greatly appreciated. It depresses me and I feel it'll never get clean because it's so big and so messy/dirty. Help!

Start one room at a time, sort thru things you want to keep and donate other items to Goodwill, pack all things that make your house look cluttered including pictures of family. Get down to a bare minimum eliminate excess pieces of furniture to make rooms look bigger.. when you pack boxes be sure to write a brief description of what is in the boxes and what rooms they go in....don't look at the whole house and panic just do the one room at a time...
After you are done sorting clean the room good and shut the door to help keep it clean while you are cleaning other rooms.

Don't try to do it all yourself, hire someone like Merry Maids or Maids 2000. Then try to keep it picked up daily, just in case.
