Hi there,
It happens when you get Office as a pre-installed package from your system manufacturer or you install it as minimal installation.
To resolve this:
>>Closed all open application/windows.
>>Insert your copy of MS-Office.
>>Click on Re-Intall/Add features on the next popup window.
>>Select Custom Installation...
>>In the next window, Installation Option window, right click on the item at the top (in the white box) and select "RUN ALL FROM MY COMPUTER" and continue...
>>Restart you system...
You are done.
Hope this help...

Mine was doing that too! Only Windows Installer popped up ever time I pressed anything, browsing for page to page, outlook express, it was coming up every time I touched anything, several times a minute. VERY ANNOYING!!! I emailed Microsoft, they walked me through the process. Apparently there is some glitch with it. I tried to uninstall Money but it wouldn't let me. windows installer has something to do with that. Here is what I ended up doing.
Go to settings, then control panel, then administrative tools, then services(right click and send to desktop in case you need to get there again), scroll down to the W's find Windows installer, double click it choose disable and make sure to stop the service. It doesn't interfere with anything. If you have trouble just go there and start it back and enable it. I stopped messenger & alerter too. They were just using juice. Whatever you do you should either make a copy of the services before you start turning stuff off so you can turn them back on if it doesn't act right. I also started running FireFox browser, it is faster, change your default browser if you switch to something other than Explorer.
All your services can be found there for further use.

You have inadvertently deleted/moved a file (from its proper location) that is required by Word. It finds it in your path setting and then its starts later when it finds it elsewhere. You should try to see what is the file it is looking for , as sometimes the message pop up will say which one it is, and then locate it , and move it to windows>>program files>> word

That usually means an incomplete installation problem. Uninstall Office - REBOOT - reinstall office completely. This will work!
