Ok, to all the people who said yes....
how many christans a day do you think pray for world peace? a cure for cancer, AIDS? An end to world hunger?
doesn't the fact that none of these are granted, despite the overwhelming numbers that must prey for these things on a daily, if not hourly basis, disprove the exsistance of a all powerfull ,benevolent, all loveing creator?

The truth is it only takes one with the faith as small as a mustard seed.

most likely He generally wants to please his devotees and wants to help others in their miserable conditions. He is the most compassionate. In the Vedic scriptures there are many instances where one great saint would ask for God to deliver all living entities from material existence. And it said He did but the whole universe filled up again with fallen souls because this is going on and on. Creation maintenance and annihilation has been going on since time immemorial For more info go to www.stephen-knapp.com and read Srimad Bhagavatam by Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada www.krishnaculture.com

Your fatal assumption is that this world and life is all there is and every will be. To believers, this world is NOT their home, we are just travelers. We wont be home until we get to Heaven. But for the unbelievers, I agree, this world is all there is and this is all their reward so it is more in THEIR best interest to make this world as best as they can make it.
Christians try in their own way but we know its futile because Satan has dominion here as well as evil unbelievers with agendas.

Supposing that thing was the eradication of malaria. Why should any half-decent god have to be prayed to to carry out THAT?

Whether the imaginary god grants it or not is besides the point. If all christians were to pray for such an act, it will change their rapacious mindset and make them a better people and consequently a better world. Prayers changes things, not because a god exists, but because prayer can change people's mindset.

If it was his will, then yes. Remember, prayer from a Christian perspective does not change God, it changes us.

Good question. I believe that it would depend on what they were praying for. If they were praying for someone to die, of course not...
