I have a feeling that putting a cork up there might just promote even more annoying sounds from the other side of the body.

Think about it. Do you really want to disable the only warning that is there for sudden aromatic air turn over?
I wouldn't. Besides, the cork will eventually be disolved and then it gets worse...

Well, if you really want to dirty yourself and put the cork there yourself, so be it. Have fun. personally, I'd not be lazy and just walk away when someone farts.

I wouldn't recomend shoving asnything up you *** for any reason. The gas will probably build up and escape through the sides, and the effect will be like a trumpet with a mute.

Probably not. That sounds extremely cruel. Besides its better to let them fart and get the odor out than to risk blocking them up. That could be painful
