Adam

That question is unanswerable : There was no writing before that time ,so therefore there is no record. people will say biblical persona but there were plenty before, Hermes, Plato..... etc...
History show, Lucifer was the first on earth, the most beautiful of gods angels " the light bearer", was he!!!, then came Adam, but then again who wrote this??? It's a story of metaphors and symbols, that have guidance and insight into who we are.
Prophet means nothing more than a psychic, in today's understanding, but for reason I choose not to get into, A prophet has become exalted upon a pedestal, such as the golden calf.
Those who have eyes will see.

I don't think Adam was a prophet, just the first created. And Lucifer/Satan was a fallen angel. In Genesis 5 is the geneology from Adam to Noah. The first one mentioned to actually walk with God was Enoch who didn't die because God took Him (verse24). No one else was mentioned as being a prophet until Noah was given prophetic knowledge of man's sin and the resulting Flood in chapter 6 of Genesis.

Don't know I haven't studied all the worlds religions yet. I do know it wasn't Adam.

A prophet: One who speaks by Divine inspiration or as the interpreter through whom the will of a god is expressed; a soothsayer

Edit: It was pointed out to me that I misspoke since in Islam Adam is believed to be the first prophet. My apology for any inferred insult

waelnaz,
That is such a good freaking question! Let's see here in my Book of God's Word:
If you count God, He's the first as Elohim. He revealed light. And that's what prophts do, right? The Spirit (Ruwach) of God moved upon the face of the waters. And Elohim said," To exist light, to exist light." (literally)

If you count God inspiring a prophecy from a human, Eve. She told the sepent of the Garden the Words of God correctly, but didn't listen to her own words, being beguiled by the serpent.

In Islam, it is Adam I believe.

I've heard some scholars asserting that Zoroaster, or Zarathushtra, is the first instance of a "prophet" as we have come to use that term.

So I guess it depends on how you look at it. ;-)
