It's All because of Sin. It rains on the just and the unjust.
No one is exempt.

These sayings are most easily evaluated first spiritually and then physically. Here are some examples:
The judgments you make on others hit you the hardest both in veracity and in effect (see Christ's mote/beam in the eye parable). The anger that you direct at others, both binds and harms you the most. The discord that you sow in others actually violates your own inner peace the most. The less respect and honor and good that you see in others, the less you see in yourself. The doubt that you sow brings doubt from others upon yourself. and so on and so forth.. No person who engages in these behaviors may be called a good person, no matter how well they mean.
Don't assume that good people don't sow bad things. There is a difference between doing good and thinking/believing good (which does require action). If a person believes or desires bad things to happen to them, they are not as good a person as they may initially seem, and they will certainly reap what they sow, especially spiritually.
The person who puts oneself before all others will find enemies with the world, and thus the first shall be made last as they loose their war with mankind.
These sayings are most certainly true. Don't let appearances deceive you in your judgement of who is good and who is not. Were the truth known, the fears, doubt, and dissonance within "good" people perfectly account for the aura around them and the events which are attracted to them. The power of the human mind for both good and evil, equality and force, freedom and tyranny, is truly amazing and even miraculous. This power is truly the power of faith, which moves mountains when it is only "the size of a mustard seed." (Christ's teaching in the New Testament on the power of faith)

Look, people will answer that question based entirely on what THEY personally believe, so how are you going to really GET an answer that you can r ely on? You can only get other people's opinions. Let me put it another way, there are six and a half billion human beings on this planet, so without a doubt, somebody, sometime, somewhere, is going to get hit on the head by a meteorite that came through the atmosphere and hurtled to earth, and that person just happened to have his head in the exact spot that matched the trajectory of that rock from space. Saint or sinner, whoever was standing in that precise spot is going to get bonked on h is noggin from that chunk of rock.
Think of that Publishers Clearing House Sweepstakes 10 million dollar prize. The odds of you being the one who wins are reeeeally slim. But guess what?somebody always does, and sometimes that person is a wonderful, or needy person who deserved it, but it could also be a total jerk who will blow the whole lot in the most stupid way. Ever been in the store and you reach for that "one left" item... and doggone it, someone grabs it first? Are you going to go out of that store, worrying your head over why that other person got there before you? Was it ALL guided by some divine hand? Come on... it's called "life" Ya win some, ya lose some, or as a good friend of mine said once...."sometimes you're the statue, sometimes you're the pigeon"

Some might suppose that bad things can't happen to people doing good because of the "reap what we sew" thingy. Not so, of course that's not true. The book of Job is a good example of a man who done good all his life and then had very bad things happen to him. In the middle of those bad things happening he could not understand it and could not see the end of it all, but in the end, he did reap what he sewed. Good for good. We don't have to worry about bad things happening to "good people" because there is NONE good. Matt. 19:17, Mark 10:18

Consider that there is always a tragedy looming, on those that help others and on those who are more self-serving. It happens to humans, to dogs and cats, to yaks and rats and elephants. Being good is no shield because it's a part of life that eventually there will be loss. Sometimes in stages, sometimes in a trickle, but eventually the loss will be total.
Recognizing this is one of the core elements of Buddhism, and coming to accept it is part of the path of gaining peace of mind. Loss and pain are the great leveler, that which all people have in common. If anything comes of such thinking, it can be that while pain is inevitable, suffering is optional. The way in which we walk through life helps to determine the manner we incorporate pain into it.
I doubt this reflects your philosophy, but your question prompted these thoughts. I wish you the peace that lives within you that can arise during times of difficulties.

you reap what you sow, which means you harvest the seeds you plant, an analogy meaning that you only get as good as you put into something
I am not sure comes around or goes around is Biblical but it could mean do not gossip which is, or could be another way of putting the Golden Rule which also is
God never promised that nothing bad would happen to us, he promises us that no matter what happens to us, he will see us through if we turn to him
God is the potter and we are the clay, which means he molds us into what we are, not necessarily through hardships
Last first, first last means that those who are rich and powerful here on earth will find it hardest to make it into heaven and those who are meek and powerless will be first into heaven
Good luck...and read the Bible closer

Life happens. I believe that our souls live many lives. We chose a reason for coming back. We have a specific purpose or lesson to learn. When life is easy we don't learn a whole lot. There may be a God involved in this, I don't know.

Grace(not Law) unto you, and peace(not division),
from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Sow Law, reap "law worketh wrath".
Sow Grace, reap "grace is sufficient".
Law: Destructive (God our Destroyer)
Grace: Constructive (God our Saviour)
The Grace(God) of our Lord JC with you all. Amen.
