They don't know what evolution is-they think it's Darwinism they think it's a theory-they'd be shattered if they ever discovered that it really is an indisputable fact. Biological evolution in the sense of change in species at the genetic level occurs-that is a proven fact and anyone who says it doesn't occur is ignorant and bigoted.

If you are going to make such a sweeping generalization, perhaps you should take better care to explain yourself. Otherwise you look ridiculous.

Many Christians believe in evolution as you mean it, meaning Darwinian Macro Evolution (one species becoming another species), which by the way is not proven. What has been proven is Micro Evolution (one species changing in order to adapt to its environment) and some in the scientific community then extrapolated that to a mcro scale. Scientifically speaking, Transpermia or Punctuated Equilibrium hold more promise of being correct than Macro Evolution.

Also, why do you say that the Bible is fairly tales? This dismissive statement provides no evidence or argument to support your assertion. In fact, the Bible has been proven time and time again to be historically factual. Your problem is the automatic assumption that the supernatural does not exist. If you set aside your preconceptions, I think you will find the Christian faith the be very rational, understandable, and believable.

To assist in your education, the first link below details many of the problems that Macro Evolution has from a scientific perspective. The second one has several articles concerning the Bible's authenticity. Enjoy.

Not all Christians reject evolution. Within the Catholic Church, evolution is regarded as a tool God has made as part of his creation. I'm not aware of any fairy tale books that we believe in though. However, those too arrogant and haughty to acknowledge the Father have been told all throughout history; it's nothing new or interesting.

Peace,

Well I would note first of all that you make a lot of assumptions about what Christians are or are not prepared to believe. Many accept the idea of evolution, including the last pope - it was a Catholic priest named Gregor Mendel who in fact provided the proof for evolution that Darwin only speculated about. Mendel demonstrated with peas and plants how inheritance worked.

As to what we do believe, I believe in Jesus. The book matters. But Jesus matters more. Christianity is more than a book. It is about a saviour. And I won't let anyone take that from me - anyone.

Christians do not even know the history of their own bible. It is a book of myths and legends compiled and edited by the church. It was never meant to be taken literally. The stories were only there for moral guidance.

All throughout history man has made religion, especially before the modern age. To satisfy their own need for answers of questions and things they could not explain (at the time, which now we can so we don't need religion anymore)

Today in the United States the people have the freedom and choose to be controlled by merely a book and a money hungry, (boy loving) church.

It is truly pathetic.

If you look through the bible you can find stories (including the story of Christ) and compare them to other stories in different religions of different times and places and you will find so many similarities. This is because the bible is just a modification and compilation of those stories.

Don't forget the crusades, yeah they killed millions of people for their own pleasure but they also destroyed most of the existing records and history of the world outside of and before christ. Doesn't this say something? The church has something to hide.

And oh yeah don't forget how the church made up all these miracles to con the faith on to people. Its all a scam.

One of the ten commandments is (who cares which one) is shall not steal... or something. The followers of god are the biggest thief's in existents. (Other than human kind itself). Everything that Christians hold dear is a rip off, a theft, a plagiarism of other peoples, religions cultures and belief systems. Mostly Pagan Religions. Every Christian holiday (Xmas, Easter etc etc) was stolen from pagan tradition. Jesus (if he even existed) was not born on the 25th of Dec, no one really knows when he was really born. The church set it at that date to compete with the other pagan holidays set on that same day.

Science can and has proved that a lot of the bible is practically impossible. Atheism is not based on the disbelief of god. It is based on scientific fact, knowing what is real and what is not.

And on my ending note, your god is an evil one. Have you read your precious bible lately? Your so called "good book" teaches not only to love and care for one another but also to kill, rape, murder, enslave and "destroy" each other. It is all there in your "good book".

to be honest the Bible makes more sense, and as i go higher into science God reveals more of himself to me. Honestly BIG BANG.!!..? Can i make a cake that way? Even our DNA has a recipe!nothing happens by chance. the world is just to ordered .Evolution didn't make sense to me as a 4th grader and it still doesn't make any sense . be advised *I DID NOT* grow up in a christian household, wasn't saved until I was teenager. You only call it a fairy tale bc you don't understand what you are reading, take another look at the Bible from an unbiased perspective then lets see what you think..

First...the Bible is not a fairy tale. It is a historically proven piece of literature. And as a christian...I do believe in evolution. Since God made the animals and man; we and animals have changed in response to our environment.

hmmm no proof of evolution. so adaptation to changing environment doesn't occur. that's strange because the Galapagos anhinga is evolving from a flying bird into a flightless water bird (penguin like). in the life cycle of of several generations of fruit fly or roaches one can easily see adaptations within the boundries of sustainable conditions. viruses adapt so quickly to anti- viral medications that new vaccines are often required. the proof of evolution is everywhere you look. sadly, many species will not be able to evolve fast enough to survive humanity's destructive effects on their habitats.
we humans are like a plague for which the planet Earth has no anti-bodies.

Your so-called proof of evolution is not a proof, and has often involved hoaxes. Someone who has a relationship with God knows it and cannot deny their own life's experience.

Charles Dawson, a British lawyer and amateur geologist announced in 1912 his discovery of pieces of a human skull and an apelike jaw in a gravel pit near the town of Piltdown, England . . . Dawson's announcement stopped the scorn cold. Experts instantly declared Piltdown Man (estimated to be 300,000 to one million years old), the evolutionary find of the century. Darwin's missing link had been identified. Or so it seemed for the next 40 or so years. Then, in the early fifties . . . scientists began to suspect misattribution. In 1953, that suspicion gave way to a full-blown scandal: Piltdown Man was a hoax . . . tests proved that its skull belonged to a 600-year-old woman, and its jaw to a 500-year-old orangutan from the East Indies." Our Times--the Illustrated History of the 20th Century (Turner Publishing, 1995, page 94).

Science Fiction
The Piltdown Man fraud wasn't an isolated incident. The famed "Nebraska Man" was built from one tooth, which was later found to be the tooth of an extinct pig. "Java Man" was found in the early 20th Century, and was nothing more than a piece of skull, a fragment of a thigh bone and three molar teeth. The rest came from the deeply fertile imaginations of plaster of Paris workers. "Heidelberg Man" came from a jawbone, a large chin section and a few teeth. Most scientists reject the jawbone because it's similar to that of modem man. Still, many evolutionists believe that he's 250,000 years old. No doubt they pinpointed his birthday with good old carbon dating. Now there's reliable proof. Not according to Time magazine (June 11, 1990). They published an article in the science section that was subtitled, "Geologists show that carbon dating can be way off." Don't look to "Neanderthal Man" for any evidence of evolution. Recent genetic DNA research indicates the chromosomes do not match those of humans. They do match those of bipedal primates (apes).

What does Science Say?
Here are some wise words from a few respected men of science: "Evolution is a fairy tale for grown-ups. This theory has helped nothing in the progress of science. It is useless." (Professor Louis Bounoure, Director of Research, National Center of Scientific Research). "Evolution is unproved and unprovable." (Sir Arthur Keith--he wrote the foreword to the 100th edition of, Origin of the Species). "Scientists who go about teaching that evolution is a fact of life are great con-men, and the story they are telling may be the greatest hoax ever." (Dr. T. N. Tahmisian, Atomic Energy Commission, USA).

"As regards the Word particularly, it has existed in every age, though not the Word we possess at the present day. Another Word existed in the Most Ancient Church before the Flood, and yet another Word in the Ancient Church after the Flood. Then came the Word written through Moses and the Prophets in the Jewish Church, and finally the Word written through the Evangelists in the new Church. The reason why the Word has existed in every age is that by means of the Word there is a communication between heaven and earth, and also that the Word deals with goodness and truth, by which a person is enabled to live in eternal happiness. In the internal sense therefore the Lord alone is the subject, for all goodness and truth are derived from Him" (Arcana Coelestia n. 2895).
