I'm sick of people using the bible as evidence for the bible! The bible says it's the one right way. The bible says Jesus is the only son of God. The bible says to question the bible is wrong. The bible says the bible is perfect so it's perfect.

Why is the bible the only book? Where are the other books about evidence of Jesus's resurrection? If there was more evidence and corroboration stories there wouldn't be so much questioning. Didn't God forsee this?

There's a lot of evidence available for people that can read.
the works of Josephus, the writings of Roman citizens that were anti-christian (mostly about how they are going to burn the "christians" alive) such as Pliny the younger, Trajan, Hadrian, archeological evidence, the universe, all of creation.

But God believes that you're smart enough to figure out that you didnt come from monkeys, rocks, trees, lightning bolts, etc. Or maybe your're not....?

There is historical evidence of some things in the bible, but not even close to all of the events described. There is some evidence that shows there was a flood in the middle east, but not worldwide. There also is some evidence that there were Israelite slaves in Egypt and fled, but nothing to indicate the plague/pestilence and other events surrounding it.

I think too many Christians take the bible too literally and are missing the true meaning of many of it's stories and parables. The bible was something meant to gain wisdom from, it's not a history book.

There were actually something like 7 different accounts found of Jesus's life. They just didn't get cannonized with the common 4 that are in the Bible most people use. The documents that were cut out called the apocropha. There is also acheological evidence. Many of the places described in the Bible have been found. Archeologist also recently found the tomb of James. So yeah, there are other types of evidence. It's just that churches don't teach people how to look for it and use it.

Of course God foresaw this. He didn't seem to care.

Why would there be other books about the resurrection of Jesus? Think about it. Those who saw the Resurrection became Christians and contributed to the Bible.

Those who don't believe in Jesus didn't want to write about an event that might prove that they were fools for rejecting Christianity (why write about something that you don't believe in?).

-----------------------------------------------
...Frank Morrison, a British lawyer of the 1930s, undertook an expedition to collect circumstantial evidence to disprove the resurrection. Such evidence, of course, is admissible in all courts of law in civilized countries to prove or disprove events of which there are no living eyewitnesses. When he analyzed the evidence, he reached a stunning conclusion: The resurrection had actually taken place! Morrison presented his case in his book, "Who Moved the Stone?"

Another factor worth considering is the character of the disciples. They were eleven cowardly men who shut themselves in a room after the crucifixion because they were afraid. Yet what galvanized them into action so that within their own lifetime, much of the then known world could hear the message of Christ? Some of them paid for this message with their lives. Would they have done so if the resurrection were a hoax?...

There is no shortage of books and writings about Jesus and his Church.

People are just too lazy to do the research.

Send me a mailing address and I'll send you a free CD with more stuff on it than you could read in 5 years, all of it from people who were there, and who actually lived in and around biblical times.

Some were apostles, some were disciples, some were disciples to apostles, and many of them were eventually killed, because they refused to renounce their faith.

Many were eye witnesses to Jesus, Mary, and all the people, places, and things the Bible speaks about.

Do a google search on practically any theological concept and/or historical/biblical figure and you'll find a host of very old works, and many more scholarly works from every age.

And it's not the Bible which testifies to God.

It's God who testifies to the truth of the Bible, through his universal Church, which has been constantly present in the world, ever since Jesus himself founded it.

Yes and there are many corroborating evidences. Marcus Cicero looked for the Messiahs because he saw that all the philosophies pointed to it. Check out the book " Pillar of Iron" to see how life has really not changed but is constantly repeating the same cycle. It is one of the most moving books I have ever read. ( author Taylor Caldwell)

Grace unto you, and peace,
from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Science & History both support what's Bible "evident":
"that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God".
And as Paul The Apostle notes, it's from the "evidence".

Now faith, opposed to blind faith, is based on "evidence";
Which is the intro theme of Hebrews 11's hall of shame,
in which all listed notably died and rec'd not the promise.

So don't believe every spirit, rather "try(test) the spirits".
Law: isn't perfect nor sufficient, so then try Grace.
Grace: is perfect and sufficient, so then flush Law.

Enmity: I will forsake you, the city, your fathers: Law
Friend: I will never leave thee nor forsake thee: Grace
Christ is our peace who hath abolished the enmity(law).

Science also 'supports' the legend of the flood,
for a scientific ww survey of all men everywhere,
revealed one thing common to all: a flood legend.

The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

the other books, are quite numerous in volume and in countries world wide. the christian bible and dead sea scrolls are two different books, that with exception of verb usage support each other. how many forms of ID do you require to be proved?

many of us believe in George Washington, & that he existed. yet theres less evidence he was real, as there is proof Jesus existed.
roman history has shown proof, so there is more than the bible. as there are mor books on law, we do read only from the ones that set precedent. not relying on john grishom or other writers tomes. we have a standard & we follow it.
