My problem is that we broke up because it was a long distance relationship. I have known him since elementary. Now, will your answer change?

You should really ask your friends to give reasons why they think the way they do. Also, ask yourself this important question "Why did we not work the first time?" Chances are the words "I LOVE you" are blocking the memory of what went wrong. Good luck
