Ideally it would have it's own room, just off the living room and the shower room would back on to it so you can watch Mr Pingu swim while you wash.

First off, all species of penguin are protected. I don't know of any place you could legally get one.

Secondly, you would need a constant and reliable supply of fresh frozen fish as well as appropriate vitamin supplements, you would also need to know a vet who was familiar with penguins and the many diseases they are prone to when kept in captivity.

Thirdly, you would need to be able to feed the birds every day so you couldn't take any more vacations! You can't just put a penguin into kennels!

Fourthly, you would need to build a suitable enclosure to keep the bird - remember different species have very different environmental requirements (temperature, vegetation etc.). For example, there are no species of penguin that could live outside year round in say Chicago with its wide temperature variations. Plus all species of penguins require access to a large, deep and clean pool of water - preferably salt water.

Fifthly, penguins tend to live in large colonies - anything less than say 20 birds would not be sufficient. So you would need a very healthy income. Zoo's here reckon it costs around 400 pounds (700 US$) per year just to keep a penguin in fish!

Finally, why would you want to keep penguins for yourself anyway? They are much better left in the wild or in well looked after breeding colonies in Zoos and Aquaria. Remember that nearly all species are endangered to some extent or another.

I strongly discourage anyone from trying to keep a penguin as a pet - except the cuddly toy variety!

Go to Sea World in San Diego and visit the gift shop near the Arctic World or whatever it is called (place where they keep the Belugas). There you can buy a lot of very nice penguins (stuffed animals) and you can create a nice room for them modeled on one of Sea World's exhibits. Other than that, you might try divorcing your current husband and marrying a zoo director.

Ideally, penguins prefer a cold climate, so they would be at home in a fridge made of chocolate, in a pack of 6 or 12. (You can't expect a serious answer to this, can you? Penguins live in the Arctic/Antarctic).

A penguin ( the bird) might cost you about £1000 if you can get someone to sell you one, which I doubt. don't forget they smell strongly of fish, due to there diet, also prepare yourself for a lot of smelly poo all over your house. A single penguin will be lonely, so better with two. Where to get them ? try e bay you are able to get every thing else there

I think you can get them in most supermarkets, They come in packs of 6 or 12 I think. The best place to keep them is in the fridge as its nice and cold like their natural habitat but bear in mind they do have a sell by date so won't live forever.

ok this is what you do:

1you sail down to antartica.
2then you sit close by the icebergs
3when all the penguins start jumping off, you grab one while it's in mid-air
4sail back and make a pool for it(at the temperature of antartica)

Ask Flamingo hotel in Vegas. They manage to have penguins and keep them cool in 120 degrees heat. To tell you the truth, they still looked miserable....
