I own a black cat... I'm worried someone may kill her tonight as a sacrifice to satan.. can someone give me some history on this practice?

She's 6 months old. Completly black from a brown tabby litter [Yes... the oddball] And named 'Kafira' or young lioness in hebrew. Her eyes are jade green. She's currently locked down in the basement out of harm's way.

If someone killed your cat tonight - it would likely be kids who are trying to terrorize the neighborhood - NOT SATANISTS.
I have a friend who works in occult crime investigation. She said that while it's true that many black cats are killed around Halloween, it's always done by kids just screwing around, messing with a neighbor, or trying to scare another kid.
There is NO evidence that there are alleged *Satanic* sacrifices of black cats around Halloween. That is a myth.
However - do keep your cat in. Some horrible children in your neighborhood might think it's fun to torture the poor animal.

Hun, you have more to worry about from the teenage crowd pulling mean pranks like that than the cat being a sacrifice, lol. Honestly, this misconception is one based out of fear. If you really knew anything about Satanism, you'd understand that lies such as sacrificing black cats are just lies, nothing more. If you are that worried, and I really don't mean to sound like a smart a**, then keep the cat inside, lock all doors and windows and keep the curtains closed.

As far as I know, no instance of satanists killing anything has ever been proven.
However - because black cats were long associated with witches, and witches (usually old women who were no longer useful to society and therefore "disposable") were long associated with the devil, black cats have erroneously become attached to satan. Therefore, people who are very ignorant about what satanists actually believe "think" that it's very satanic to sacrifice black cats, when in fact it's just cruel and sick.
That black cats are somehow evil nonsense and baseless. I've had two black cats in my life and they were by far the sweetest, most loving pets I have ever had and I was devestated when they died. My dad's cat is black and rides around on his shoulders everywhere he goes. Black cats were long revered in many societies are extremely lucky. Our puritanical society is one of the few that associates black cats with evil. (That's for anyone who might think that black cats truly "are" evil.)
If you're truly worried about her - as you should be because there are some real sickos out there - keep her inside. Also, please know that it isn't just black cats who are targeted. When I was a junior in high school, two boys in their senior year caught the valedictorian's cat, hung it from a tree and beat it to death with a bat because they thought it was "funny". It was not a black cat. Like I said, lots of sickos out there.

Drop the satanic panic and don't believe the tracts. Satanists don't come out on halloween and sacrifice animals. Try reading up on this stuff, knowledge is power.

If you lock her up you are doomed to be visited by Satan. You need to let the cat out. Black Cats can ward off evil spirits. If anyone tries to sacrifice it they will be cast into hell.

It's a teenage prank at best. There has never been any confirmed animal-cruelty or murder crime done under the auspices of any organized satanic church.

my cat (although not black) wont go out this time of year as she hates the fireworks if she needs to go she does her business then either goes to see mummy number 2 (my neighbour) or comes to me if you are worried keep her in

I never heard of that but it sounds like some jerks had been in your neighborhood. Keep her in if it will make u feel safer.
