A four week old kitten should be perfectly able to move its bowel independently. Mother's milk is extremely absorbable, so kittens who are exclusively nursing won't have much of an intestinal load. At four weeks, that kitten should really still be with its mother. But, I'm guessing that is not possible.

It may take a few days of eating for the kitten to accumulate enough waste material to make a bowel movement necessary.

A wash cloth or paper towel soaked in warm water will work, rub the kitten to stimulate a bowel movement. Though at this age the kitten should be starting to eliminate on its own.

Good website for taking care of a younger kitten, I work in rescue and have found this website to be very helpful when educating people on how to take care of a younger kitten.

This sounds really gross but the mother cat induces the kitten's bowell movement by licking it's butt.
The best way to mimick that is by gently rubbing kitty's bottom with a warm wet soft cloth.
Hope I could help.

Usually by four weeks they should be having bowel movements on their own, but if it has been awhile try stimulating her to have one (this is why the mother cat licks her kittens, they can't go themselves). Wet a paper towel or cotton ball with warm water and gently rub her anus. Should stimulate her to have a bowel movement. Good luck!

MY boyfriend's parents recently got a kitten and it was having the same problem. Their vet told them to massage the kitten (gently!) on her lower stomach and around her butt. DO NOT go inside her butt! Just around it! This will get things moving inside.

I know this sounds gross, but take a tissue and rub its butt hole. This stimulatesthe kitten to poop, but take caution because it will poop, and it may be more than you expect.
