why do they have the same stories but with different characters, and still be able to believe them (i.e. the binding of issac in quran with ishmael instead)
This is not meant to be a barb at islam, just academic curiosity.

Just about every religion is based off religions before it. Christianity and Islam both have roots in Judaisim. Judaisim itself is based off earlier Mesopotamian & Summerian customs. For example, the story of Noah and the flood is based off the Summerian story of Gilgamesh.

Can you please be more specific as to which stories you're talking about?

The Quran is the final chapter of all the books that were sent by God. You won't find reference of Muhammad (PBUH) in the torah or bible because those books were revealed before Prophet Muhammad's time, however, the Quran mentions/recognizes all prophets and all the books that came before and has all the same stories. The names might seem different to you because Jesus in the quran is referred to as Prophet Isa and so on...Quran is the only book of god that has NOT been changed by man...

Because the books were from God but later changed by man, The bible the torah etc so then Allah challenged anyone to copy the perfect book of them all the Holy Quran, Even today not even the smallest surah (chapter) in the Quran hasn’t been manipulated.

From my understanding, Islam is a "sibling" religion of Judaism. They believe the same, up until Abraham. Where Judaism and Islam split is Judaism follows the lineage of Isaac, son of Abraham and Sarah, and Islam follows the lineage of Ishmael, son of Abraham and one of his servants. It just so happens that Ishmael was the first born son.

All these books are originated from the same source. They contains stories of the area. I think it was a fashion to declare that one was the prophet of god and that he has a book from him. These are all stories. There is nothing special in these books as for person to believe that it is not form a man but from some supernatural.

Muhammad used stories from the bible to try to give the Koran credibility.I'm not slamming Islam either, but I am troubled when I read it and find holes in it's text, almost like something is missing.
The Holy Bible flows when you read it,and goes into great detail. The Koran does not do that.
