I have to baby-sit my brother every weekday and some weekend nights. He won't listen to what I say to him, he lies to me, and he gives the most vulgar comments (for a 9 year old, it is pretty mean.). He likes to try to push my buttons and will kick and punch me if I won't let him have what he wants. I can take the hits but I can't take that I have to put up with it. Can you tell me how I can babysit him without having to create havock?

I am 14 years old. I live with my dad, stepmom, brother, and 2 dogs.

You want more exact details? Well, my parents talked to him about it. But he still refuses to listen.

Try not to boss him. He knows how to push your buttons and that he can. It may be hard, but try your best not to let him. Know the say "kill 'em with kindness"? Just be nice to him. Play with him - whatever he wants (within reason). Watch a movie together. Make snacks together. Have you talked to your dad and stepmom about it? Maybe you should.

Tell your parents about it!!!! And if they don't listen, then discipline him. When my lil bro was 9, I was 16 and he acted the same way! I used to lock him in a closet until he promised to be good. And if your parents don't like it tell him to either deal with him or don't ask you to watch him. Simple as that! I tried that "kill em with kindness" crap and it only works for a little while and then they're back to normal. If you need more advice, let me know. Hope I helped and good luck!

Have some of your friends (girls) over at your house when you have to baby-sit your brother. Then all the girls go confront him at once. If he does not listen to you or your friends, or if he does not stay still while all the girls are talking to him then hold him down. If that doesn't work and he does not stay in one place, when he is lying down on the floor have one girl take his hands and another girl take his ankles and lift him, carry him over to the couch or if he has to use the bathroom when you do it then carry him to the bathroom.
Tell him that he stinks
