Don't let them. The adult is in charge...not the child.

I am upset by this only if they don't eat what they ask for. I hate to waste. However, I don't often have neighbor kids over, my opinion may change if this was on a regular basis. That could get expensive. The only children besides mine or family that come into my home are from after school pickup, for other moms, that I am helping out, that also help me out. So it goes with the territory, I hope that when they pick up my child, that my friend provides him with a healthy snack.

I actually hate when my husbands family comes over and does this! They hardly work, and waste their money on stupid things and then ask for gas money and diapers for their baby. Everytime they come over they make a mess, eat and leave! It drives me nuts!
I think children would be a little different, I have snacks that are just for my daughter, she doesn't have friends that come over yet, she is to little. But when she does, I will be less bothered than I am with the "in laws" lol!

Just put out the snacks that you want them to eat and don't allow them to take any from the cabinets or pantry.

I agree! I cant stand this, food is off limits at my house when the neighbor kids come over!
My husband gets so mad! I dont care, its like they come over and they just realize they are hungry!
I say stay out of the kitchen.....

I would just hide them until later on, that way they won't know you have them. And if they ask just say that you don't have any. But if you let them, they are going to eat it.
So you will have to be the one in charge and say no or give them to them.

Whose children are they? Maybe talk to the parents about feeding their kids better.
