It should be no problem. My cats like cheese and although cats usually don't eat plain bread they will have a bit of my sandwich. I suppose cottage cheese might upset her stomach if she's not used to it, so keep her in an un-carpeted room for a while just in case she throws it up.

Our vet advised us that once off won't do your cat any harm. However, best not to feed your cat cheese on a regular basis as this can lead to a clogging of the arteries.
As for bread, they may get toothache from the sugar.

Although, it is good for a cat to eat the same cat food all the time, because doing otherwise can upset their digestive tract, an occassional treat is o.k.

It's OK with me, and I think your cat will be OK, too. Make sure he/she has access to clean fresh water.

Now... if that bread and cheese belonged to someone else, and kitty helped him/herself to it, then you'd just have to ask that person.

In the worst case, it may be too much lactose or too rich for kitty's stomach- and in that case, it will come up. Either way, I think your cat is in no danger.

You cat can eat any food that a human can eat. Think about it like this who made dog food? This was just a reason to feed animals for a cheaper price, originally they ate what people ate.

Dairy products may cause stomach upset, even diarrhea in cats. They are not as tolerant to lactose as humans.

little late to be asking that now --- just watch for signs of upset and make sure there's fresh water for the cat to drink
