Usually when a cat eats grass, they do so to induce vomiting so that their fur balls come up.
As for what type of grass, unsure, as our cat just eats the regular type of in the garden ??

Cats usually eat grass...it aids in digestion and helps them get enough roughage in their system to cough up hairballs. Now if grass is good for a sick cat...depends on what is wrong with your cat. If the cat has a hairball then grass is great. If your cat has an upset stomach fine. But if your cat is seriously ill, gras isnt going to help...only your vet can help there. If your cat is in indoor only cat, you can get a large container and grow some grass for your cat . They really need the greens.

Animals eat grass to aid in digestion. If they are sick they will eat more of it to settle their upset stomach.

Pet Smart sells grass specifically for cats if you are worried that the grass they are eating is doing them more harm than good. Just make sure if they eat grass from the yard that it has not been treated with chemicals.

I wouldnt try to push grass or weeds onto your cat. If your cat or dog is sick and you let him outside, sometimes they will chew on grass because it makes their belly feel better, i dont think there is any harm in letting them, as long as there isnt any chemicals or pesticides on the grass
