Yes. Give it a day or two and retest. Also, there's no guarantee that the test isn't "bad" (all products have some amount of failures).

It is possible that the test was wrong. I took a test 2 weeks after my missed period and it came up negative then waited another week and took another (using a different brand) which came up negative as well. I finally went to a doctor to take one which came up positive. Now I'm seven months pregnant. Over the counter tests are NOT always accurate. I suggest going to a doctor to have a test if you feel that you might be. The test doctors use are a bit more accurate.

It is possible that you are still pregnant but most likely you are not. Most of the pregnancy tests are pretty accurate these days. There are reasons why you might not get your period though. Stress can delay you period or if you have an infection. You should go to your doctor and get another pregnancy test and if your not pregnant they might want to do additional tests to see why you haven't had your period. Its probably nothing but you need to get checked out just to be sure. Good Luck

Yes, it is possible. Some spotting is not unusual during the first month of the pregnancy.
Some tests give false positives or false negatives, because none of them are 100 percent accurate.
Give it a couple of days, and try the test again. Even if it does come back positive in a couple of days, wait a couple of more days to retest a third time.

It is my understandings that pregnancy tests give false negative's often. My advise is to retest in the morning with your first urine speciman. It is possible that the spotting could be implantation bleeding (when the egg implants into the lining of the uterus) if you are pregnant. If you continue to test negative and still have no period then please contact your doctor. Good luck!!!
