christ was born in the spring . christmas replaced a pagan holiday to try to appeal to the masses of pagans . not to mention the giant santa clause that has been in my local wal-mart for a month now . all of those presents aren't going to the poor .

Christmas is supposed to celebrate the birth of Christ, whenever He was born. But now they take the "Christ" out, calling it Xmas and encouraging shoppers to spend, spend, spend to boost the economy. I still celebrate the holiday, and love the lights, festivities, music and yes even the gifts. But me and my family try to remember the reason for the season, Jesus! We give gifts because He have the ultimate gift, his life, and we do it in rememberance of Him and out of love for one another. Let's keep the "Christ" in Christmas!

FYI - to the guy who posted taking Christ out of Christmas (xmas)

This is actually a shortened version of christmas. The X is the greek letter for Christ.

Kind of like those Jesus Fish you see on cars that say IXOYE

It translates into Jesus, Christ, Father, Son, Spirit

Oh. . and the Bible actually teaches not to celebrate pagan holidays so technically christians are sinning celebrating christmas.

There are those that celebrate only Jesus Christ in Christmas.

And there are those who celebrate the commercialized aspect of Christmas.

And there are those that do not take much thought, and celebrate both aspects of Christmas together.

Everyone should be respected for whatever they choose to believe and celebrate!!

How did you get the impression that Christmas is about money??
You are either delusional or have a very, very base perception of life.

sad to say, it seems like it's more about money and Santa Clause, not Christ, but at my home it's about Christ; we don't acknowledge Santa.
