Relgion is anti-progress, anti-freedom, anti-medicine, anti-research, anti-women's rights.
Religion has provided NO new knowledge of our Universe.
Scientific research has expanded our knowledge of the universe and the place of the human species within it. Human inquiry is now able to advance and to have its findings confirmed by science and reason, while the metaphysical and theological speculations of the past have made little or no progress. The discoveries of astronomy, physics, relativity theory, and quantum mechanics have increased our understanding of the universe — from the scale of micro-particles to that of galaxies.

God has given me more than science could ever give me. Science is just man's way of trying to understand what God created!

Science has given us some things that improve our few years on earth, none of which will benefit us individually in the long run. Religion opens the doors to an eternity of perfect peace and harmony that comes afterwards. If I had to choose, I'd take eternity without a moment's hesitation.
And no, I am not "anti-medicine" and "anti-research", nor am I "anti-anyone's rights". Professionally I am a biologist and medical researcher, and personally I support every right of every individual that does not compromise the rights of other individuals.

Will you marry me?
But seriously. Those who are devout and already convinced of the validity of religion and the supposed 'truth' of the Bible will NOT consider the points you make to be important. They do not base their belief system on fact, reason or information. They base it on faith. They will be sure that religion has given us much more than scientific inquiry, and they will tell you so on their science-given computers.
Those who DON'T believe as above, will know that science is the pathway to truth, and thus will be content in the knowledge that science has given us more.
You DO know, don't you, that no matter HOW rational you are you will never convince a fundamentalist? If an idea is not based on reason or logic, then logic and reason will have no ability to successfully counter that idea.

This is such a shallow observation. It ignores the fact that internal ignorance is the domain of religion (NOT DENOMINATIONS OF ORGANIZED RELIGION) and that external ignorance is the domain of science. Both are hesitant to accept new viewpoints (try looking at the so-called discovery of oxygen). Both fields of human endeavor have ups and downs, but science definitely has a better PR effort.

Who has given us more? I believe both. Science has given us knowledge about universe, about human being, about the phenomena of universe. Science has devised ways which has made our life easier and more comfortable.
And RELIGION has given us hate, has made us blind, has made our future dark. Religion keeps us backward. Religion tells us thatGalileo was wrong.
Science has made our life on earth easier, Religion promise to make our eternal life easier, the life which has no proof, either we will have it or not.
Science has given us Light and Religion has given us dark.
A day will come when all the people will believe in truth not in religion.
I might take a very long time.

science gives us technology and knowledge about the *physical* world, but it can say nothing about the spiritual and emotional dimensions of our existence, which religion is able to address. Therefore, science and religion contribute different (but both necessary) components of our worldview. Since these are different contributions, I don't know that you can say that one is worth "more" than the other (it's like comparing apples and oranges).

Science is the only true study and worship of the universe that God supposedly created. Science all the way.

i think the first paragraph of this question is very subjective, religion and science can exist together and in fact can even help each other move forward towards progress and help human attain the ultimate reason for their presence here on earth.

Science can be helpful to me for about 80-100 years max- God can help me eternally. I could live without science---- I could not live without God giving me life. So, God has given me more.
The rest is just knowledge, most of which I accept but are not necessary for me to sustain life. I have to have air, water, shelter, and food. God has given this to me.
You are failing to realize that God gave us the ability to discover science- not the other way around.
