I also have 4 cats..and two dogs! I had that problem until I spayed/neutered the whole crew. This is highly territorial behavior and if left too long it will become a hard habit to break. I recommend that you have your animals fixed to solve the problem and hopefully the behavior isn't too deeply ingrained. If it is then you need to basically retrain them to use the litter box. If your keeping the litter clean then you should be ok once they are spayed/neutered.

You are going to have to have your house professional cleaned to get the smell out. They have marked your house and will not stop until the smell is gone. No easy task.
If you want cats that go to the litterbox, spay or neuter them. A male cat will always mark his territory and you have two. No wonder! Put out more than one litterbox preferrably 4 in different areas of the house if your house is huge. You may have the litter box too far away from the main part of the house. If you don't have your cats spayed or neuter you will always have this problem, also fixing your cats controls the animal population.

You have to get them all fixed, and use a cat litter for multiple cats, or more than one litter box. Cats are very picky about their litter boxes, and will not use it unless it is clean. Sometimes cats will urinate outside their box when they have a urinary tract infection. Observe the cats, are they peeing alot more than normal? Clean the pee with bleach or a commercial pet stain/ odor remover. Do not use ammonia because their pee smells like ammonia, and they will think that is where they have to do their job. Try a product called Biozyme, it contains enzyme which will kill the odor. You can find this at www.petodorsrus.com

you should get them all fixed and try different litter boxes for each cat. We had a cat that started to do that and it was because she wasn't getting enough attention from us anymore. Once a cat starts doing it's business around the house it is very hard to get it to stop. Start spraying the cats with a spray bottle if you catch them doing it else where.

1. Reduce the stress in their environment.
2. Make sure the food bowls aren't too close to the litterbox.
If NONE of the cats are using the litterbox, it sounds like you have too many cats (of different temperment) for the space.

Keep them outside more. When inside keep constant watch when they go to the areas. Use a spray bottle to spray right in their faces if they go near the pee areas. And also throw things (shoes, books whatever) at them when they go near their pee areas. They will learn quickly to not go to those areas at all.
Also clean the areas with bleach to get rid of their smells.
