the very first day my family moved into a new house i spent the night there alone. My mother and siblings stayed at the old houses with the last of our stuff and i stayed in the new one. i was alone (except for my dog) and a little scared. So i went around to all the doors and windows and locked them. when i woke up the next morning everything was wide open...including the dead bolted front door. my dog never made a sound. nothing else ever happen. i think whoever it was just wanted me to know he/she was there.

I live in Cornwall and we're surrounded by ghost stories.

I perform at the St. Austell Arts Centre which is supposedly haunted. It's a really eerie atmosphere upstairs and that's where the activity happens. Slamming doors and be explained away by gusts of wind or air movements, but the ghost at the Arts Centre turns lights on and off. Typical example: We had a rehearsal that went on till around 10pm. Everyone went outside and just as the door was about to be locked we noticed that a light in the attic was turned on. No-one had been up there all night. I volunteered to go inside and turn it off. I checked around and there was definitely nobody anywhere. With the light off, I went back downstairs and out the door. The door was locked and we were all staring at the window commenting on the oddness of the event when the light switched back on. None of us dared to go back inside and I'm told the light was turned off again when the Stage Manager returned the next morning.

So yes, I believe in the paranormal. However, I'm a Fortean and so rather than saying that ghosts/aliens/yetis exist or don't, I gather up the evidence and say that there may/may not be.

If you're really interested in the paranormal then buy the Fortean Times ( http://www.forteantimes.com ), it's full of very interesting and balanced articles.

I do believe in the paranormal. However, I do not believe in ghosts. I believe in spirit beings. Spirit beings are capable of many things, deception is one of them. I am religious so my views on ghosts differ from most people. I think that most ghosts are actually evil or bad spirits playing games. I would not want one of them in my house. The spirits will be a bad influence on the children. I would do whatever I could to get the thing out of my house. I believe Jesus said you can use his name in these cases to make the spirit leave... God is our protector and shield against evil spirits.

Not sure if it's paranormal, but I was looking at my new TV guide earlier today and started to sing Perfect Day. When I turned the page there was a picture of Claire Goose at the top of the page from her new show "Perfect Day: The Funeral". Well spooky.

Well, I have seen the face of knowledge, in all of its horrific beauty. Certainly out of the ordinary. However, this kind of "spirit" bares little relation to ghosts or similar spectral manifestations; it was really just a brief meeting with universal consciousness.

Yes I've had many in my old house. My mum had a lodger who was a real pain in the Butt and he came in one day and ran straight back out! when questioned he said he felt a cold blow of air in his face and a voice telling him he was not wanted there!
