GobleyGook,
"Which has made more progress Science or Religion in the last 100 years?"
Both! There have been so many conclusions drawn, not so much from scientists, but their internet preachers that have been refuted by especially Christians. So I see that the truth of the origin of the universe, and the origin of the species are kept at bay somewhat, by the truth of the Bible. There is always a counter to what Pop Culture wants to say about science, and what scientists say, or have actually found. But the preachers of science have always tried to run away with the story and make science into something that the scientists are not ready to claim. It's very entertaining to see those that REALLY REALLY want God to be false. But it never happens. Instead, the politicized scientists attempt to redefine their definitions, water them down, in order to claim that their politicized theory is now a fact. (Evolution101)
From this: (New Expanded Webster's Dictionary, pg. 114)
Evolution-- that theory which sees in the history of all things a gradual advance from a rudimentary condition to one more comlex and higher character.
There have been scientists that have debunked certain claims of scientists before them, some of them seeing the error of their own experiments. I will leave you with that free video as a source.
I thikn that you will find that video more than you expect. You see, God made Christianity defensible. And you will find yourself challenged to remain true to your belief. But what better thing does one have to do when being secure in that belief?

Science has definitely progressed more than religion. I will take the stance that religion has not necessarily impeded the progress of science, but the opposite, that science has impeded the progess of religion.
We, as a society, have become so dependent on hard facts and tangible results that we can see, smell, and touch, that the tenat of faith has been lost.
Don't get me wrong, I'm an engineer, so I love science and fact, but I believe there needs to be a careful balance between the two sides. People cannot survive with no spirituality.

Religion is not progressive.
Relationship with God is ever-progressive.
Science is only empirical, with faulty, primitive equipment at best.
Scientists have proven the existence of the origins of the universe, starting from a singularity and progressing after a "big bang"-or expanding, technically.
So, the quest to find the singularity, as well as to interpret the impeccable pattern the universe possesses-laws of nature, speed of light, gravitational constant- leading to the supposition that the universe was created and that is is not random and arbirtary, but intelligently designed.
Seems that science is barely catching up with Theology.

The analysis is shortsighted.
If you are talking about knowledge and discovery, then science is a double edge sword that cuts both ways. Science is responsible for many important discoveries and advances in medicine, technology, energy and the like, but not without cost. Advances in physics gave us the atomic bomb, and for the first time in history the ability to wipe mankind out. Second, medicine gave us biological weapons, which next to atomic bombs have the potential to destroy life. Computing advances gave people the ability to solicit child-pornography and things of that nature more easily than ever. So have humans progressed or regressed?
Second, religion is responsible for much of the distribution of medicine to those who need it most. Faith based agencies, not the governments of the world, were working in places that had the greatest needs before humanitarian organizations stepped in. After Katrina, it was not the government who help people, but religious organizations. The government worked through the networks of churches and religious charities to deliver aid to people.
So to blame religion for the world's problems and praise science for advances is really shortsighted, because it does not include the whole picture.

Interesting question, however in my opinion science and religion are like apples and oranges. They are not mutually exclusive, as each provides a different perspective to the same questions. Science is based on a need to find answers whereas religion has more to do with social and moral codes and practices.

Ah, poor child...
Churches run orphanages...provide homes and help for unwed mothers, feed the hungry, clothe the poor, provide hope for the hopeless...I can go on and on... Where have you been lately? Many churches are helping with compassion those suffering from aids, poverty, abandonment, etc.
Science is great, and has given us many comforts. It helps us live more comfortably, but not contentedly. It has provided us with many toys to amuse us, but contemporary society is bored beyond belief.
TV, a great tool for us all has a down side too. Couples talk less than they used to. "Shut, up, I can't hear the TV!" "Wait til a commercial comes and then we can talk..." Now the commercials are so entertaining we tell people to "shut up" so we can hear the commercials!
With all our comforts and conveniences given to us by science, people still can't fill the void in their hearts apart from faith in God.
I see that you are very religious---worshiping at the altar of science. Science is your god, but your god will leave you wanting.
Comment: I don't expect you to choose my answer as best, but you would be wise to give your question more thought.

In religion, we have made huge progress in restoring the place of the gifts of the Holy Spirit, in the church. We have better and more reliable translations of the Bible now and there is a lot of Biblical archeology, creation research and better historical records than ever possible before.

The British people on the full, mutually as retaining their theory in God are of a concepts to have self belief that because of the fact that God created all issues, he additionally created technology. we are consequently consistently in debate approximately subject concerns on the subject of technology - those are many times ethical debates, yet faith is seldom allowed to circulate into the debate and rather a intense sort of classical ethics is extra to the debate by skill of people who're knowledgeable in such scholarship. Britain is an completely secular society and one wherein unfastened debate is held upon any difficulty, surprisingly on the subject of including technology and faith. many people in Britain have self belief that faith, surprisingly the Christian faith, has held mankind in a backward state for many hundreds of years and that had it no longer been the case, then there is little question that study then being finished by skill of including Leonardo might have been far extra superior than is the case, because of the fact the Church stopped his study, surprisingly into that of the human physique and it relatively is working.
