It is one of the most wonderful passages of scripture I have ever read. It means that our Heavenly Father wants us to have joy in this life. More importantly, however, the lines that follow are vital: "And the Messiah cometh in the fulness of time that he may redeem the children of men from the fall." He will take away our sins on conditions of repentance. What could give more joy? Additionally, had Adam not fallen, he would have fathered no progeny, which would have also been a violation of Heavenly Father's commandment to "Be fruitful and replenish the earth". Having not transgressed before the fall, Adam and Eve were not able to reproduce. The fall further resulted in a change in their bodies that permitted reproduction.

2nd Nephi 2:25!!!

basically, Adam realized that without eating the forbidden fruit, he would not be able to fulfill the other commandment God gave in the garden of Eden: "be fruitful and multiply." We could not have been born if adam had not fallen. Men are not "born evil" because of Adam's Transgression!!!

I believe without the fall of Adam and Eve we would not be here. So I believe that God knew this. He has a perfect eternal plan. There will be many questions answered someday and I'm sure the answers will be all for a great purpose

adam did not fall that "man might be". adam fell because of deception from satan. adam's existence wasn't confirmed or realized when he sinned. Adam realized and recognized he was a creation of God and lived in God's presence from the beginning.
