The Day of the Dead is a positive celebration in Mexican heritage, not a bad one. It is a day to honor your ancestors and celebrate your heritage. I think a wedding is a good way to do that.

It is only bad luck if you believe in it. But the day of the dead is a holiday when they honor the past relatives and think about fondly. There is a lot more to it but if you look at it like that, it is not bad luck at all. It just has spooky sounding name.

Get married. Congratulations and I wish you all the best in your new life together.

well i don't know any thing about that holiday, I don't know why it would be bad luck though isn't the Holiday about spirits being free getting a day to just hang loose and remembering in a good way I'm sure the spirits would love to see a wedding it always seems so joy full and happy when Ive seen it on TV you'd prolly have a great wedding filled w/ love id say it would be a lucky day to be married on good luck and congrats why would the spirits spend their time trying to wreck your special day i say leave a glass of champagne out for them and every body's happy

In my opinion, you can get married on ANY day you want! It's not the day that makes the marriage, it's the couple that makes the marriage. If you think about it, weddings and funerals happen all the time and some happen at the same time but that doesnt stop people from getting married. The day my parents got married, they went to my Uncles funeral and they have been married for 25 years now!

I think that is silly not to get married on a holiday because if you really searched there would probably be a holiday for just about everyday of the year. Now if she is Mexican or you are Mexican you may not get anyone to come to your wedding if they are superstitious. I say get married and prove that no date can effect the strength of a marriage.

you're getting married on a Wednesday? I've never heard of that before.

I don't know much about Mexican culture, but in my kids' Scooby-Doo story book (sorry, it's the only info I have) they showed the Day of the Dead as being like a party and a day of celebration, not mourning.

After being together for 13 years, my husband and I got married on April Fool's Day! As long as you both love each other, then the date really shouldn't matter.

Good luck!

I say go for it anyways. The only thing holding you back is supersticion and what do you think is stronger love or holidays made to make you believe something? Its upto both of you to be honest and if things get really difficult, flip a coin! lol, Good luck and congrats!

Why are you getting married on a wednesday instead of the weekend? Do you actually expect people to take the day off of work to see you get married?
