What is the most ridiculous thing your psychiatrist has ever said to you?

One of mine said : How can you be depressed when you have a nice car? (It's was my sister's car anyway!) Duh! As if a car can cure depression.

and

Go and do a bit of shopping or cooking.........(What????!!!...'cos I'm a woman I suppose!!)

mine told me

'go and get some chips on your way home that is all that you need'

if i could have done that i would not be sitting in his office

What a stupid psychiatrist, i thought mine made me laugh when he asks questions but listening to that i guess he's not that bad. Depression is a disease people don't seem to understand that! a car is blatantly not the solution! i say get a new one! x

I swear this is true; my mother once saw a psychiatrist for what she thought was post natal depression. This was about 35 years ago....and the psychiatrist told her she needed more sex doggy style.....i think he had problems

well my Dr. told me to start wearing diapers that was 2 years ago ive been in diapers every sence!! Wonder when she will tell me to stop wearing them? She said it would make me feel better and not be so depressed. But i dont know how it works i guess i aint doing it right. I dont know.
