First of all, I would like to say that I am completely opposed to the war. That being said, never, never, never, should you criticize the military. The only exception to that is NEVER.

Now, as for heros, I agree that fighting in a war does not automatically make you a hero, that takes a sense of courage above and beyond, like the off duty police officers/fire fighters, emt's who risked life and limbs, even while they were not on the clock, or people who rose up against oppresors, knowing they could just cowar in fear. These are true heros.

In the end, I neither agree nor disagree with your answer, as I don't read internet shorthand well. If you are going to take the time to ask a question, ask in a way that makes sense.

The american soldiers did not just one day decide to go to your land on a whim and begin bombing. I am quite sure most of them would have been happier to be here training for warfare or simply being home with their families. They are heroes because they are doing the job their country sent them out to do whether they like the order or not. Many have died over there in an effort to helo get rid of the fascist regime that has been oppressing the peaceful muslims. For that alone they are heroes in my book. You can call it what you want but that is my opinion.

The word hero is tossed around alot. To call them killers and to infer that their main purpose is to go and kill innocent civilians is not an accurate description of what American troops are doing. I do not agree with what you are saying. We have put ourself in the position we are in after years of poor diplomacy. There are both sides to look at and this problem has existed for thousands of years. "Wars will never cease. Is there time enough for peace? The Lily of the Valley doesn't know." You can either stand with us or stand with them. I can see you chose the other side without looking at the other side and their part in all this. You selectively have chosen sides because things probably aren't going your way. You will never have to sacrifice anything so why are you so concerned? Killing is a human thing. To kill is to love.

Main Entry: he·ro
Pronunciation: 'hir-(")O
Function: noun
Inflected Form(s): plural heroes
Etymology: Latin heros, from Greek hErOs
1 a : a mythological or legendary figure often of divine descent endowed with great strength or ability
b : an illustrious warrior
c : a man admired for his achievements and noble qualities
d : one that shows great courage

First of, we are protecting something we love, our brothers in arms, the man standing next to you and your family back home and our way of life. being a combat veteran i may have a biased opinion on the matter, but i digress. i personally have never killed an Innocent person. i have however engaged and neutralized enemy combatants that were trying to end my time on earth, i have protected Innocent afghans and Iraqis from those that intended to do harm to them. i have helped build schools and dig wells. i have been thanked by local nationals in both theaters that i have served in. the people that call American soldiers hero's are saying that of there own beliefs on the matter. all i can say is that all of my heros are soldiers.

I disagree. The American soldiers are hero's because they are fighting in order to free a persecuted people. Contrary to the Left Winged view that it's over oil. I would not want to live a life controlled by Saddam, I hope that you wouldn't. As for the innocents killed- I feel for them and their families. But you think about how many innocents were killed 9-11-01. That's why these people are hero's. They are fighting for a cause.... to free this world from terrorist supporting dictators.

i don't blame the army people them selves..alot of people joined for the money,,college money,,, had no other oppertunities or not thinking they would go to war, the goverment trained them to be killers..but on another hand there always innocents killed in war.I totally respect the solidiers but not the war...whats life going to be like for them when they come back home??? i have had different recuiters trying to get my kids to join with the promise of all kinds of things. Even when i was younger i had recuiters promise me things..like one weekend a month a few weeks a basic training etc,,,no mention of war if it was brought up...was told Guards dont usually go first,,,sorry to ramble on. Then you join you cant quit or go against your training you become a killing machine if need be.

we call the soldier hoers because they died thrying to defend and protect. the doldier is not the evil one. the leader of the army is the people who needs to be judged for the wrong doing.
Also i do not believe that soldiers are heros. i believe that they are good kids who die for no good reason. Some are noble and a credit otheres are not. to be a true hero, i think you have to die protecting a life, not an idea.

If you want people to listen to you, you need to structure your sentences and use spell check. No abbreviations (i.e. "ppl") and use punctuation. Your typing is atrocious, therefore NO ONE is going to listen to you.
Also, don't make soldiers out to be monsters. They are doing their job and protecting America. That makes them hero's, whether you like it or not. If you don't like the policies, be mad at the politicians sending them, not the soldiers. You are being ignorant to the world around you.

I disagree, the united states military , kills "people" because they pose a grave threat to peoples life. This is to say that they could kill many more innocent civilians.

If you have a kid shooting a gun at you, you fail to see the person as a kid, and see it as something that will kill you with no hesitation.
