Whenever I turn a light switch off in my house, my subwoofer makes a loud house rattling "THUD".......please help

If putting your sub and or HT on a seperate circuit is not an option use a battery backup with AVR (automatic voltage regulation) that way your equipment will never know when there was a draw on the power line.

if turning a light off makes it thud is not a normal thing and a surge protector won't stop it.

if it does it anywhere in your house...then a dedicated outlet isn't your issue...and it ALMOST sounds like a power spike from turning the light off..which would mean you'd have to be drawing some SERIOUS power elsewhere in your house...or you have a line voltage problem...you may have a larger problem.

That's not a surge issue. Plug the sub into a dedicated circuit.
