I don't think there is a right/wrong answer to this question. My daughter is 5 and I still have a monitor in her room. I have a split-bedroom design, with my room on the opposite side of the house. She's fairly independent, getting up in middle of night to go potty or get a drink, and I like to hear when she's up and around.

I don't think that there is a specific age that automatically entails removing the monitor. If you have specifc concerns about a particular child, by all means keep it in there. However, I would say if your child is old enough to ask what it is for, and you can't give a good (and honest) explanation, you can probably take it out.

I nevertheless use one with my 31 month old. My mattress room is downstairs jointly as his is upstairs so i think greater delicate this type. He gets up and springs downstairs interior the morning and barely wakes at nighttime yet when I does i admire having it there so i'm able to pay attention him. I in all likelihood won't provide it up earlier he's 3. yet by potential of then, my eleven month old would be sharing a room with him so i'm going to be conserving it in there for him to boot. it is going to in all likelihood be extremely a jointly as earlier I provide up a touch one video demonstrate. yet issues might have been distinctive if my mattress room have been on the comparable floor.

When you're ready to. I did at 18 months. My daughter's room is right down the hall and we left her door open so we can hear if she awakens during the night. Around 24 months, the child should be able to walk into your room if they need you or to go potty.

I took it out when my twins were 5.
I liked having the comfort of the monitor. Once I knew that they would come to me if something was wrong then I decided to take it out.
I did like the sense of security of having it.

When they get married LOL. Between now and then you just trade the audio monitor for a computer activity monitor and frequent snooping.
