I HAVE HEARD NEGATIVE FEEDBACK REGARDING THE SCHOOLS (OVERPOPULATED, SEGREGATED, ETC.) ALSO, I HAVE HEARD CRIME IS QUITE COMMON. CAN SOMEONE GIVE THEIR HONEST OPINION ON SOME THINGS I MIGHT NEED TO KNOW BEFORE MAKING SUCH A LARGE COMMITMENT?

Get down there spend at least a week if you haven't done so already. Crime is everywhere you cannot run from it, you need to physically walk around the schools yourself to see if you care for them or not, don't go by someone else's opinions you will have different views.
I relocated to FL from NY, what a shocker. lol I love it wouldn't go back to NY for anything but its a huge change.

I think that New York is way higher on the crime scale than concord. My bf used to live in NC, (morresville bout 30 mins from charlotte) and he loves it there. The south is growing, and concord is what i like to call, high class city. Schools are mostly likely going to be better than those in NY. And the GREAT weather is always a plus!!!

Living outside of Charlotte is not a problem. I live approx. 1 1/2 hrs from there (Asheville NC) and visit there often. Call the local Chamber of Commerce and they can give you all kinds of stats. about schools etc. If you're looking for a quite mountain town try us. Look up Asheville NC, Hendersonville, NC etc.

you should not think of the what if's ,,, only because someone else had a bad experience does not mean that you are... what works for them might not work for you,,, and what works for you might not work for them,,
