I downloaded IE7 a couple of days ago on my reconditioned but quite new Packard Bell PC, and have found that the computer has "frozen" many times and I have had to close the programme via Task Manager. The worst is when I try to open any link in a Yahoo or Hotmail e-mail - the little "pointing hand" appears and then everything freezes! Any suggestions please?

One of the many bugs in IE7. That's just one of the few issues that I've heard numerous complaints about.
I suggest that you downgrade back down to IE6 or download to the latest version of Firefox. It has more advanced features and far less bugs.
