My hair is really, really short. I just got it all chopped off after a horrible dye job. It's black basically and I'm tired of it, I've had it all my life. I want blonde. Since my hair is short I'm thinking why wait? If I mess up my hair is short and I can just chop it up again, because I don't really care much anymore. So I'm wondering how to. Strip color out, bleach, bleach, tone, dye? I have no idea. Help, pleeeeeeeeease.

Oh and if you want any say on if I look better with dark or light hair, be my guest.

Oh no, you don't know what you are about to get yourself into. It is possible but it will take several steps to lighten hair that much. Dark brown to blonde is very hard to achieve because of the many levels you have to go through to lighten. For example first stage it will turn a dark rusty/reddish/brown color...and get lighter to a more red, then copper, then orange, then yellow...and its very hard to pull yellows and oranges out of hair without damaging it. This is a process that will kill your hair if you attempt this yourself without knowing anything about hair lightening. It might cost more money, but it's worth it to see a professional to get great healthy results. Otherwise you might end up standing over your kitchen sink looking at your hair that is no longer attached to your head.

Wow you look great with blonde hair. To go blonde from dark takes awhile, usually you have to go through stages of getting it lighter. The only way to do it quick is to call a hairdresser and have them strip the color then dye it blonde. Good luck.

i know its not the cheapest way, but thats hard to do without going to a salon. my hair is dirty blonde and i've always wanted it blondER, but its hard to do yourself without making it look reaaally shitty. like bright yellow.
to get the blonde like nicole has, you could just get your hair bleached and then do like a base color and three or four different shades of highlights all throughout your hair. my friend did that and it looked awesommmeee except i think it's pretty expensive.
all in all im not recommending dying it yourself, because the dye in stores KILLSSKISLISKISKIKS. kills. your hair.
i think it looks good black though!
