Now, many Christains think that their God is the only way to go., without respecting the religions of others. All they want to do is talk about their God, and they want you to listen. In situations like this, you can completly ignore the person, or......do a switch method. What is a switch method? a Switch method is you telling the person 'Look i'll listen to you talk about your God and your religion, if in turn, you listen to me about my God/dess and my religion'. Its very hard to deal with people who just want to do all the talking. So, do what you think is best.

Hmmm, let it go in one ear and right out the other. Politely tell them you're really not interested and no matter what they say you never will be. Or in the best case I had a woman come to my door preaching about the Bible and Jesus etc, I said I'm sorry I'm a Witch, I'm not interested in the Bible etc.
I've never seen anyone run so fast, LOL
Admitedly she came back with re-inforcement the next day, so i had to sorta get a little nasty-ish with her! I felt bad but she really wouldnt get the hint, so I asked her a load of questions about her religion that she couldnt answer or explain at all! She left after that!

Politely tell them you respect their choice of religion, but that it is just not for you, and if they come with the line about your immortal soul again kindly tell them it is your choice to believe what you believe and that you have chosen a different path then them. If they still insist on with the conversation tell them you have heard it all before, and just want to continue on with what you were doing before they started talking to you.

I used to be Christian myself and as such know and to some degree understand what the Christian Bible said about 'Do unto others as you would have done unto you" something a lot of 'In your face Christians' forget.

If I have offended anyone I apologize in advance.

Peace Out

Duct tape.

Sorry, had to say it.

Seriously, I don't know. Even when I was a Christian I couldn't get Christians to shut up. There was always a Baptist or a Mormon or a Jehovah's Witness knocking at the door demanding to know how I was CERTAIN I had been saved. Saying "I've been baptized" or "My uncle is a minister (seriously, he is)" or "My mom's a church secretary (seriously, she was)" never worked. Now that I'm Wiccan I've found that simply saying, "Look, I respect your religion, please respect that I don't share it" doesn't help much, because if they hear you don't share it they try even harder to convert you.

So...yeah, I go back to my first statement. Duct tape is probably the only thing that will work.

Why ask us? Ask the Christians.
It annoys me also when the school says- "Parents, what's the best way to keep your kids off drugs?" Ask the kids.
Although, granted, the kids are probably more likely to give you a straight answer.

They have a right to express their views, too. It's when they refuse to allow alternative views to be expressed that they become a problem.

Most are open to differing views and are usually quite easy to deal with. If they are of that intractable sort that considers theirs the only true religion, and even the hearing of alternative opinions whips them into a whirlwind of fury and Bible quoting, then you might have stand up for yourself more loudly.

Leave them alone. If you are approached then politely tell them that you have your spiritual beliefs and they have theirs and that you are not interested in discussing religion at that time.

OH and williamzo.......this isn't a christian site. It's Religion and Spirituality......there is more than one religion in the world.

As soon as they start, smile and say politely, "I'm not interested in this subject." And walk away. If they follow you, look them in eye and ask them if they heard what you just said.
