If I want to take the metro without riding a bus, which is the closest station and how does that compare to taking the bus from landover?

You can take the orange line to the Landover Metro stop (you can take a shuttle bus to teh stadium) or the blue line to the Morgan Blvd Metro stop (it is about a mile walk to the stadium)...

Shuttle bus service is available from the Landover (Orange Line) Metro station beginning two hours prior to the event.

landover metro station and then take a shuttle. i just wouldnt do the bus at all during game day. it gets crazy especially anything going in the direction of fedex field. at least on the train you have more than one car with a little bit more breathing room/space, but not on the bus you dont. leave very, very early. i worked up at the stadium and we would come in about 2-3 hours prior to kickoff and there would already be swarms of people pouring in, especially if its a big rival like - dallas, eagles
