Dogs don't really have emotions like we do, their attention span doesn't last long enough for them to get depressed about anything, so I don't think the your dog is concerned with the "right or wrong" side of what your doing, but she might be reacting to your feelings, dogs are a lot more perceptive than most people give them credit for. They can sense it when their person is upset about something or if they're happy about something. If you're feeling stressed or nervous, or upset in some way, she might be picking up on that and reacting accordingly. But this sounds a lot more serious than her just noticing that you're upset. I would advise you to take her into your vet and have her checked out. There may not be any appearance of an outward injury, but she might be sick, or have injured herself internally, so it would probably be a good idea to take her to the vet and get a professional's opinion.

First of all - if you need your dog to tell you that cheating on your husband is wrong, you've got bigger issues than THIS one.

Secondly, take your dog to the vet. Anytime there is a change in behavior that is negative, you should seek the help of a vet if you actually care about your dog.

I hope she's OK.

Dogs, like small children, may not understand what you're doing when you cheat on your husband, but they can cue in to your own anxiety, hypervigilance, guilt and upset. Dogs express stress in many ways: going off their food, avoiding their normal routines and activities, becoming lethargic, becoming fearful (or conversely very aggressive)...

You need to do several things: (1) Get your dog to a vet and have it assessed. The vet can rule our any physical ailmets the dog might have that are causing its behavior changes, allowing you to focus on its emotional issues and needs. (2) You need to stop upsetting the household routine by having your lover over to your house. Any change in routine can be very disconcerting for sensitive dogs. You need to make a choice: your husband or your lover. (3) You need to grow up, make a mature decision about who you're going to be with, and BE with that person, completely and honestly. Jerking these men around is disrespectful to both of them.

Actually your dog might be the same as always..Maybe your feeling sad yourself and the dog knows this..or maybe your reading more into this. Yes she could miss your husband but the dog get over this I'm not sure you well. Give the dog to your husband for awhile and see how it work's out.

I think the cheating thing has nothing to do with this. The dog may very well be sick though. It's just your guilty concience that makes you think she is acting out against your cheating.
You might want to consider that.
Couple questions for you though. If you like the cheater guy, why stay married to hubby? Why get married at all if you weren't ready to turn in your "player" card? If you didn't want forever why did you make the promises? I just don't get it!

Try spending more time with her as well, sometimes dogs recognize people by smell its possible you smell different because you've been haning out with this guy so she doesnt recognize the scent.
