From Christian scriptures, what are two or three messages that today's politicians should hear?

And who, if anyone, seem/s to be hearing--and acting upon--those messages?

Do not testify falsely against your neighbor (Exodus 20:16) and Ephesians 4:31-32 "Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of malicious behavior. Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you."

From my perspective, I don't think there are any politicians following any of the scriptures in the Bible.

"He has told you, oh man, what is good;
And what does the Lord require of you
But to do justice, to love kindness,
And to walk humbly with your God?"
Micah 6:8 (New American Standard Version).
Here in Canada? I would have to get to know my politicians a bit better.
Back in the days of the Nixon scandal, there were soome politicians who really put that in practice, and that led to the conversion of Chuck Colson (former Nixon hatchet man) who since then has been doing an immense service in the prison ministry around the world.

44"They also will answer, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?'

45"He will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.' 46"Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life."


Matthew 7:21-23
21"Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.

22Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' 23Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!'

No one is hearing it.
