Which neighbourhood is thebest to live in in New York City?? Taking into consideration: crime, education, neighbourhood friendliness etc. within the manhatten, bronx, queens and brooklyn area. Also, as close to manhatten as possible if in surrounding areas. Any new yorkers available to help???
Also, where abouts are the houses that are like terraces, but have steps leading up to them?? Like the houses on Bruce Almighty.

If you have the dollars, then anywhere on the Upper West Side off Broadway in the west 100s. This is a colourful area with a friendly, unbuttoned and unhurried vibe, sense of community and an easygoing charm. The transport links are good, crime is low and it is round here that you get residential New York at its best: gourmet garages, coffee shops, deli stores/launderettes on the corner, and houses like those in Bruce Almighty.

Try Long Island, you can find Floral Park along with South Floral Park very accessible and yet friendly... With just $4 dollars you can go to NY back and Forth by taking E & F train with transfer bus to take you to Floral Park....

Well you didn't mention any $$ limits so . . . . if I could afford it I'd live on Gramercy Park. Second choice: Off Park Ave in the 60-s to 80's -- with a garage.
