Hr friends daughter is supose to visit during Christmas break, but she really does not seem to happy to be coming. She is 14. Is it just her age, or it just a drag to visit out of state during break and leave all her friends. He wants her enjoy her visit, but if she is just coming because she feels she has to, he would rather she tell him the truth and stay at home and enjoy her holiday with her friends. What should he do?

she's 14, so there isn't much he can do. he's going to be wrong anyway he goes here. it's really up to the daughter to make the stay enjoyable. and hopefully, she'll figure that out, if not though, all he can do is try, maybe if he got her a really good present or something, it might help (very materialistic, i know, but it just might work)

He needs to try to build this break around what she likes. Brainstorm with her before she goes and live it it. It is hard to please a 14 year old but they need bonding time and hopefully planning together and planning ahead of time will help.

Nothing he can do. At 14 they are not happy anywhere! Just tell him to be himself and enjoy his little girl
