That depends.....is his X his X-wife or X girlfriend? I have 4 stepchildren and I view them as my own. If for some reason my husband and I divorced, my kids would still be my kids and an integral part of my life.
Taking them on all of your dates, however, I don't think is a good idea. If you 2 are getting serious, then it is important for the children to spend time with the 2 of you in outings where they can get to know you and get used to the idea. I recommend interactive activities though, not anything like the movies where you don't talk and interact with one another.

The problem isn't that they aren't his kids. He may be so emotionally attached that they feel like his kids and will have to be a part of your life with him in some respect. The problem arises though if he's not making time for just the two of you and expects you to be cool with his kids going on dates with you guys all the time. A family "date" to a movie or an amusement park is one thing; a family "date" to a romatic dinner or a walk along the beach is something else entirely.

Fine if you are tagging along to a kids movie, but kids and 'dates' should not mix.

I think that he is trying to keep in some sort of contact with his ex. I think he still as some feelings for her thats why he keeps contact with her children. I think that when you break up with some one and start a new relationship, it is very unhealthy to keep contact with that ex (unless of course you have hopes of one day returning to them).

If they aren't his kids and he is still attached to them, great. That means he is a stand-up guy who knows what it means to be responsible. HOWEVER, date night is your time!

They may not be his biological children, but if he raised them then they are most certainly his kids. Put your petty jealousy aside and welcome children with open arms, an open mind, and most importantly an open heart.

No offence or anything, but that is just weird especially as they are not his kids.
