Well why don't you and your husband have a little celebration of your own, then wait until your parents are back in town for the big get together. This way you are sure that there are no hard feelings. Grandparents take things very personally when it comes to their grand kids!
Best of Luck to You!

Wait until your parents come back from Florida to throw the party and make the announcement when everyone is there all together. Maybe you could throw a Christmas Party for the family and then make the announcement.
Why did your family go to Florida in the Fall instead of the winter? They will be coming home to a cold winter will they not?

Oh man! First grandchild? That's a big deal! You had better wait until they get home to tell them. That's a great idea, throw a christmas party and let them know then. You could even decorate the house a little and have a boy/girl theme, depending on what your having. See if they notice the "decor" when they come over.
HAVE FUN!!
CONGRATULATIONS

Don't tell.
That's my advice. If you do, everyone will be telling you that you feel X way because the baby is a girl or do X thing because the baby is a boy. It's annoying. Plus, I don't know how you feel about stereotypes, but it's nice to get cute things that don't scream pink and frilly or navy and baseball, you know?
I never found out the sex of any of my kids (hard, when you have weekly ultrasounds!), and I would never have told anyone if we HAD found out.
It's nice to have a surprise. Or at least a secret.
Good luck.

I would wait till your parents come then throw your party. Although I would tell them over the phone or something what the gender of the baby is!

I think you should send them some pictures from the ultrasound that sexed the baby with a card that says "It's a boy!!!" (or girl). They'll probably want to buy the baby stuff while they're away, anyway. You'll be having a baby shower not long after they return anyway, and I doubt they'll be upset if you celebrate a little while they're gone.

I would definitely wait. If you want, tell them over the phone and save the celebration for when they return. Of course they'll want to help you celebrate and it'll hurt them if you do it while they're out of town.

This moment is for you and your husband. of course you want to share it with your parents but I think they will understand. You can tell them over the phone or let them know when you see them.
