My boyfriend who lived in Detroit, Michigan didnt go to court for his assult w/a deadly weapon charge. Can anyone tell me the statue of limitation in Michigan for this?

If he has an open charge that he has not appeared for it will remain open forever. The statute is only for those that haven't been formally charged. In this case, he has an open warrant that will never go away. Good Luck!!

If your boyfriend failed to go to Court, that means he was charged but not prosecuted. Most likely there is a Warrant for his arrest. There is no statute of limitations under these circumstance. He needs to contact the District Attorney in Detroit and work out a plan.

I believe the statute of limitations applies to arrest and not to trial. if your boyfriend did not go to trial he will probably be wanted until he settles the matter somehow by getting in touch with the D.A.
If it happened years ago and they cannot produce witnesses now then they may be interested in some settlement with him. if he does not do this i think he is probably subject to arrest.

that one carrys a even longer limitattion cause he didnt show up for it now hes . got the police looking for him and they wont stop . best thing for him to do is go turn himself in. if he was man enough to do his crime than he should be man enough for the punishment . dude sounds like a little punk to me

capital crime no statute if limitations on the like rape or murder its there till its taken care of sorry kid

the statute of limitations is 7 years on every thing except murder , rape, espionage, constitutionally
