Your at the age where you can just say who you want to live with! Tell them that your a girl and because of the way a girl changes in their teenage years you would like to be with your mom! And that you think she would understand you better.

This largely depends on which state you live in. You need to show the court that you are articulate and mature so that the Judge will take you seriously. Think about what makes your mom a more responsible parent. Does she show good judgment when parenting? Is she attentive to your needs academically and socially? Does she take time off from work when you are sick and take you to the doctor. Does she listen when you talk? If all you do is say negative things about your Dad you will just sound angry and maybe even sound as though you are repeating negative things said about your Dad by others.

As a 13 year old, you just have to say that you prefer mom pover dad, and that you iuntend to live with her no matter what. YOu must state that dad, even though he might be concerned, lacks certain important skills in dealing with you in your teens, Be prepared to name those things. YOu must also be prepared to back up legally all statements, so go into Yahoo answers and get more responses. Luck.

PS: Make sure you are not dumping dad becuase he is watching over your better good at this age. He might actually care moire about you than mom, in which case, you mioght need therapy with him to get a better relationship.

just talk to the judge...be open and honest and stand tall. Speak clearly and properly the judge will listen.
Tell the judge why you chose your mom and ...like i said just speak clearly and stand tall. Dress nicely look and act respectable.

its normal for the judge to adress a young adult of your age about what your choices are. So just be prepared to tell the truth . thats all practice what youd like to say about whay you would rather live with your mom. practicing might help it come out easier when u are on the spot.

First, you shouldn't ask any questions. Second you are too young to know what is best for you and you likely want to live with her just because it is easier, or you get away with more.

Tell the judge where you want to live, but if there are good reasons you shouldn't it won't matter.

You don't need to ask any questions, all you have to do is tell the judge, that you want to live with your Mom and the judge will ask you why, then you tell him why!

Focus on how important it is to you to be stable right now because "so much is going on." If you would have to switch schools to live with dad - focus on that. Use the term "don't want to be uprooted."

Talk about feeling insecure, and needing your mother's advice on female issues. That always works with male judges.

Judges are usually pretty bright, and you probably won't have to ask any questions at all - the Judge will probably ask the questions.

If the judge doesn't ask you, the only question you need to ask is "may I please live with my mom?"

Judge will take into account before the decision your wishes. So you will answer his or your mom's lawyer question. Be yourself and everything will be ok.
