If you were born in the US then you are a US citizen. If you were born in the US, and taken back to Venezuela as a child, at the age of 18 you can go to the US embassy and claim your US citizenship.

If you were born in Venezuela to a US father and a local mother then your parents should have filed a Report of Birth Abroad with the US embassy. If they didn't file this report then you need to prove your father is an American and prove you have an ongoing relationship with him. DNA testing might be required.

You must take all your papers and go to the US embassey in Caracas to ge the application. If your father is a US citizen you have duel citizenship until age 20 something (can't remember). If you can't go to the embassey go to the consolate closest to you. Your father should be trying to get the paperwork on his end as well. You can come to the US and get a resident visa in the mean time.

if your father is a U.S. citizen, you may be eligible for derivative citizenship by birth abroad to a U.S. citizen. He would have had to live in the U.S. for a certain number of years (depending on the year YOU were born). Please inquire at a local U.S. Consulate for details.
