The best free program is probably Blender.
There are many others for modelling.

3D modeling is tough and challenging. The people who work at Pixar didn't just download a free program and started making Toy Story. It took them years of studying, many of them also learned how to program. However, they all started someplace as well. So if you want to get a taste of it, try downloading Anim8or, it's free and there's several tutorials avaible for it to introduce you to it:

Also, there is no way that you'll be able to ever produce a movie like 'Cars' on your home PC. It took a few months using several hundred computers working together to render the entire Cars movie. You'll need a huge bank of PCs to render anything near that quality. But if you really want to go for it, in a few years of learning and pushing yourself, you might have a chance at being pretty good. All people have to start from someplace.
